Nice shirt -- removing tag left hole in collar!

I remove tags very carefully on all the shirts I buy. I bought 3 shirts. Tags on two came off fine, carefully cutting the stitch. The blue shirt, for whatever reason, had a different stitch and in the end there is a hole in the outside collar of the shirt.
